Established in 1993, it constitutes an international forum for historical research in the south and east Baltic region, covering a broad range of historical, political, cultural and social approaches. Each volume contains thematically related articles dealing with the history of the south and east Baltic region from the Middle Ages to the present day, book reviews, and source publications followed by professional commentary. Articles are indexed and/or abstracted by: Clarivate Web of Science: Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI); Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ); EBSCO Central & Eastern European Academic Source; EBSCO Historical Abstracts, Historical Abstracts with Full Texts, and Historical Abstracts with Full Text Alumni Edition; Elsevier Scopus; Lituanistika.
