During his visit to KU, S. Song was introduced to the university, its study programs, and ongoing scientific research. Associate Professor Dr. Laura Šaltytė-Vaisiauskė, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, sees great potential in strengthening and expanding the cooperation between KU and South Korean higher education institutions in the field of maritime energy.
KU has already established connections with South Korea. Currently, agreements have been signed with Pukyong National University, National Korea Maritime & Ocean University, and Seoul National University Hospital.
S. Song expressed his pleasure with the existing cooperation and hopes that his future position will help to strengthen, expand, and further develop these connections.
The future Honorary Consul was accompanied by Eimantas Kiudulas, the Director of Klaipėda Free Economic Zone, who also participated in the discussion.
