The library of the Institute of Baltic Region History and Archaeology is a subdivision of the Library of Klaipėda University. At the beginning of 2012, the library stock had 26 thousand items of books and periodicals in the Lithuanian, English, German, Russian, Polish, Latin, Swedish, Danish and French languages.
The library stock features specialization in subjects as the volumes collected here are foremost related to the themes of prehistory and history of the Baltic Sea region, methodology of historical and archaeological research, history and cultural heritage of the regions of Prussia, East Prussia and Samogitia, underwater cultural heritage, and cultural interactions in the Baltic Sea region.
The library stock is resupplied on a regular basis due to the efforts of Lithuanian and foreign partners and sponsors of the library of Klaipėda University, the Institute of Baltic Region History and Archaeology, and the staff of BRIAI.
